Teaching About God Effectively With A Biblical Timeline Chart

In our Bible study some years ago, a woman who had been a Christian and laboured in the local Church for over 15 years, asserted that,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they were not talking about the pre-mosaic law) I wonder how many Christians will really notice the inaccuracy in this assertion. Moses came about some 500 years after Abraham and so it is impossible. I have since then put together a Biblical history timeline and explained visually the chronology of people and occasions.

Why do we dwell on our favorite subjects and feel good sermons?
We instruct on a verse from Job and a narrative about Isaac and a theme from the book of Revelation and then the faith of Solomon or the faith of Noah - pieces from here and all over, but we do not put it all together in a visible understandable, easy to remember, perspective with a capable Bible TimeLine with Church History as well. Constantly we are bombarded with new books, modernist ideas, a few of them dangerously edging toward Liberal thinking, but if we were to be coached the basic principles of Church history, we then wouldn't be so bound to repeat it.
Let's us as instructors and preachers stitch together the fragments of God's Word and His plan into a seamless tapestry that our people can draw on for the rest of life, to help them to figure out God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better interpret the Bible to order our lives by.
It is not difficult to do, and it is not boring if we are ready to put in a bit of study and prayer and fervor, and just possibly you can use a Bible Timeline as well.
