A Bible History Timeline Presents A Graphical Representation To Aid And Help Teach Bible Characters And Events And Principles

In our Sunday Bible group years ago, one person who had been a Christian and worked in the local Church for over 15 years, made this statement,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they were not referring to the pre-Moses law) I wonder how many Christians will actually pick up the inaccuracy in this statement. Moses lived 500 years after Abraham and so it is not possible. I have since put together a Bible chronological banner and explained graphically the dating of individuals and events.

Some years ago, I was preaching on the life, death, resurrection and burial of Jesus, and a retired minister and powerful preacher of Scripture, who had been a minister for forty years, came to me and reproved me smartly over some fascinating points I made and he stated 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I humbly asked him if I had been saying anything of a heretical nature in any way, to which he said"No". I continued on to explain that in the case of that particular verse, it wasn't speaking to exploring the Bible but to the false teaching and philosophy of Gnosticism, but he would not accept it. Let me ask, how can a forty year minister & worker in the Gospel, not know and understand about something that possibly half the books of the New Testament refer to?
How can he understand and teach the Bible in fullness without being familiar with something that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to comprehend these things and be in a position to understand their Bible effectively, if they're not informed?
Let's us as tutors and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and God's plan into a complete picture that our people are able to draw on for the remainder of their lives, helping them to comprehend God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better interpret the Bible to model our lives by.
It is not difficult to do, and it's not boring if we are ready to put in a bit of study and prayer and fervor, and just perhaps you can make use of a Bible Timeline as well.
